BYOK allows you to use your own OpenAI or Anthropic API keys with Manna Ink. This gives you:

• Unlimited transcription using your API credits
• Full control over your AI spending
• Direct connection to API providers (we never see your content)

Enter your API keys in Settings → API Keys to enable BYOK mode.

Local Transcription:

• Runs entirely on your device using Whisper
• No internet connection required
• Maximum privacy - audio never leaves your device
• May be slower depending on your device

Cloud Transcription:

• Processed on secure servers
• Faster transcription
• Uses your monthly minutes or credits
• Audio is deleted within 24 hours

Manna Ink includes a virtual audio device that captures system audio separately from your microphone. This solves the "Bluetooth headphone problem" where you want to:

• Listen to meetings through your Bluetooth headphones (good quality)
• Use your Mac's built-in mic for speaking (avoids BT mic quality loss)
• Capture both streams separately for transcription

Enable "Capture System Audio" in recording settings.

To share a transcript:

1. Open the transcript you want to share
2. Tap the Share button
3. Enter email addresses or generate a share link
4. Set permissions (view, comment, or edit)

Shared transcripts support real-time collaboration with CRDT technology.

Yes! We take security seriously:

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
• API keys are stored in secure secrets management
• Local transcription never sends audio to any server
• We never sell your data or use transcripts to train AI
• You can export and delete your data at any time

Manna Ink supports 50+ languages through Whisper, including:

• English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese
• Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Korean
• Arabic, Hindi, Russian, and many more

The language is automatically detected, or you can set it manually for better accuracy.

Credits are used for cloud transcription:

• Free tier: 60 minutes/month included
• Pro: 600 minutes/month
• Team: 1200 minutes/user/month
• Credit packs: Buy additional minutes as needed

Local transcription and BYOK mode don't use credits.
